The science
Built from purified DNA.
How polynucleotides work in the skin, and the other actives across the Lumi series.
Polynucleotides are chains of nucleotides, the building blocks of DNA. Purified and placed in the skin, they support its own renewal rather than filling it.
From DNA to skin booster.
The polynucleotide in Lumi Eyes, Lumi Eyes Pro, Lumi Face and Lumi 10.0 is made in three steps.
-
01
Sourced
Taken from salmon DNA, a well-studied source for polynucleotides.
-
02
Purified
Purified to a high degree and broken into fragments of a controlled size.
-
03
Formulated
Made into a sterile gel in a pre-filled syringe, at a set strength for each product.
What they do in the skin.
Three effects, which build over a course of treatment. Select one.
Hydration.
Polynucleotides bind water, so the skin holds more moisture and looks plumper and smoother.
- Better-hydrated skin
- A smoother surface
- Softer-looking fine lines
Regeneration.
They stimulate fibroblasts, the cells that make collagen and elastin, the proteins that keep skin firm and elastic.
- More collagen and elastin over time
- Improved firmness and elasticity
- Better density in thin skin
Repair.
They support the skin’s natural repair processes, helping tissue recover and renew.
- Supports tissue renewal
- Helps the skin recover
- Builds across a course

Questions about the science.
Is it the same as filler?
No. Polynucleotides support the skin’s own renewal. They are not designed to add volume.
Why salmon DNA?
Salmon DNA is a well-studied source of polynucleotides. Because of its origin, polynucleotide products are not suitable for anyone with a fish or shellfish allergy.
How long until results show?
Results build over the weeks after each session and across the course. Individual results vary.
Are polynucleotides and PDRN the same?
They are related: both are DNA-derived. PDRN, in Lumi Naju and RH Collagen, is described separately from the polynucleotide in the other injectables.
